Welcome to Exploring the Severn Estuary. This site aims to bring together a wealth of ‘local knowledge’ from those who already enjoy exploring the Severn estuary either on land or on the water and therefore know and understand it’s special places and unique environment.
It’s by getting up close to the river that one discovers why it’s so special. It’s massive tidal range, abundant wildlife, mudflats, islands and sandbanks, not forgetting the famous Severn Bore make the Severn Estuary a place we need to appreciate and protect for the generations to come.
